About This Blog

I see words as a weapon. They can be used to cut people or to cut bonds. I am trying to learn how to wield them to do the latter.

I grew up reading fiction. But what I loved about fiction were the parts that were true... the sentences that captured my thoughts, the worlds that heightened my senses, the choices between light and darkness, courage and defeat, love and hate, the characters that navigated a world that might be quite different from my own, but just as complex and confusing.

I grew up reading fiction, but I love words that are true. And that is what I aspire to write here.

I write from a limited perspective of who I am, what I know, and what I see. So some of my truth may not be yours. But I hope in stumbling across these words you can enjoy even the ones that feel more like fiction and somewhere within them maybe—just maybe—find something that rings true to you.

I'm a straddler of worlds, ridiculously idealistic & painfully practical, an enthusiast of all things spicy and a sucker for the sweet side of life. I work as a missionary in the Bay Area. My desire is to be an ambassador of the gospel to those who do not know and a translator to those who do not understand the hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
